''Die marker'' - Die gouge E. '''DPIS – In 1921 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments: # The VAM 1U has the longest die gouge of any 1921-D variety. It runs as a huge diagonal die gouge from the E in ONE through the wreath bow to the first tail feather on the right. This long damaged area can be seen by tilting the coin slightly so the raised gouge can be seen popping up out of the field. Seldom encountered, this is one of the longer die gouges in the Morgan series, making it prized by VAM collectors. As evidenced by the condition census, a few high quality examples of this VAM have surfaced but this is a killer coin. # Please edit this page and add your findings.
