Description
This 1887 white metal medal at 38mm commemorates a Reunion of Confederate Veterans featuring Jefferson Davis, the white metal version alongside the bronze (PCGS #886443). White metal provided a more affordable souvenir for the rank-and-file veterans attending the reunion. Davis remained the symbolic leader of the Confederate cause until his death in 1889, and his appearances at veterans' gatherings drew enormous crowds.
