Description
=1881-S VAM-75 Doubled 18, die scratches wing= Discovery March 2012 by Kevin Slack. III2 43 - C3a (Doubled 18, die scratches wing) (185) Obverse III2 43 - Doubled 18 in date with left 1 at top right side of vertical shaft and top left of lower crossbar. Left 8 doubled on surface of lower right outside of both loops, top inside of upper loop and top left and right inside of lower loop. Left 8 has short die chip at top left inside of upper loop with die chip between loops on right side. Right 1 has two vees at bottom of vertical shaft. Fine pitting on liberty head. Reverse C3a - Same segmented die scratch in middle of eagle's left wing as 1881-S VAM-71. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # It should be noted that the "Vs on the second 1 are fairly common and can be found on ''several'' VAMs. That list includes (but is not necessarly limited to); VAMs - 2, 7 11, 17, 22, 25, 32, 61, 66, 69, 70, 75, 87 & 90!
