=1879-S VAM-89 Engraved Wreath Leaves= Discovered August 2014 by C. Logan McKechnie. 89 III2 4 • C3ag (Engraved Wreath Leaves (183) Obverse III2 4 - Same obverse as 1879-S VAM-23 (Reverse of 1878). Reverse C3ag - Engraving to strengthen on some outside and middle leaf ends in left wreath opposite On & U plus leaves opposite RI in right wreath. IV S mint mark centered and upright. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse:1879-S VAM-124,1879-S VAM-76, 1879-S VAM-76A, 1879-S VAM-139, 1879-S VAM-140,1879-S VAM-89 Comments: # NOTE:If you have or come accross the discovery piece,send to:anacs,Vss or Vam-mysterio for proper attribution purposes and to make sure is not a duplicate of another Vam,As of June/2024 I haven’t come across a Vam 89,so Vam 89 existence is going to stay dubious until someone can prove it exists,it seems the discovery piece is mid to low grade plus full picture on this page is extremely hard to say for sure is a Vam 89,as the coin pictured is to low of a grade,NOTE : Vam 89 should have the obverse of Vam 23 (Rev 78)paired with a reverse of Vam 76,76A,139,140 # Same reverse as 1879-S VAM-76, 1879-S VAM-76A, 1879-S VAM-124 & 1879-S VAM-139.
