=1879-S VAM-76A Doubled/Quadrupled 187 & Stars, Die Break thru 9= Discovered by Brian Raines, May 2010 76A III2 40 - C3ag (Doubled/Quadrupled 187 & Stars, Die break below 9) (179) Obverse III2 40 -Vertical die crack from rim thru 9 up to hair with small displaced field break below 9. Some strong die polish lines in hair and in bear claw area. very similar to obv of vam 66. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse:124, 76, 76A, 139, 140, 89 Comments: # Fine die polishing lines in front of lips, nose, & under hair V. Dot below nostril. Entire reverse is uniformly shallow due to polishing down to reduce relief. Not as severe as in 1879-S VAM-57, 1879-S VAM-62, 1879-S VAM-65, & 1879-S VAM-68. Top
