=1878-P VAM-196 Doubled 878= Discovered by Richard Deters, September 1973. 196 II/I 22 - B2f (Doubled 878) (179) Obverse II/I 22 - Reverse B2f - Die overpolished with part of eagle's lower right wing missing next to leg. DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: Comments: # B2f reverse is found on VAMs 196, 197, and 198. The unclashed VAM 196 appears to be scarcer than the LDS clashed V 196A. # VAMs 196 and 1878-P VAM-142 share the same obverse. # LIBERTY doubled shifted left. Date doubled at tops of 878 and right side of 7. All stars slightly doubled. P,R,U,U, and M doubled.
