Description
=1878-P VAM-110 Broken N & M= Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, December 1965. Discovered August 2006 by Bill Fivaz 110 II/I 8 · B2a (Broken N & M) (180) Obverse II/I 8– Type II LIBERTY with thick letters. Doubled P-U-B on top left, second U on right and S at bottom of fully struck specimens. Partially broken bottom serifs of N & M in UNUM. Doubled left stars and 1, 3, 4 & 5 right stars. Doubled date with doubled 1 & 7 at top right, first 8 on surface of both loops, 7 at lower edge of crossbar and right 8 at bottom outside of lower loop on fully struck specimens. Reverse B2a– Shallow die gouge across eagle’s right leg.
