'''Reverse B1e–''' Clashed die with partial raised E from obverse LIBERTY below eagle’s tail feathers on left side. Vertical bar and middle serif of E show. Also has raised designer’s initial M from obverse showing above d of God. Late die states show die chip at top of right wreath. '''DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments: # Obverse Die Markers –There is a crack that starts in the denticles, passes under the 2nd right star and runs into the bottom, left tip of the 3rd star, could reach to the right tip of the 4th star in ULDS state. # The VAM-84A has the same attributions as the [[1878-P VAM-84 w/ the additions of clashing on the obverse and reverse & a die crack between the second & third star. # Obverse II/I 12– Strongly clashed die w/ partial incuse n of In from reverse showing next to Liberty's neck. # Left stars, E PLUR & LIBERTY will have some doubling as well.
