Also appears on some 1879-P & O dies. '''DPIS – In 1878 dates were part of the master die so there is no variation in position. ;Emission Sequence :Obverse: :Reverse: '''Comments: # 1878 VAM-223 Washed Out L. This variety has polished down features in Miss Liberty's headband. The first letters of LIBERTY are weak, especially the top left of the letter L. The reverse of the VAM-223 has a slanted arrow feather rather than a parallel arrow feather. Besides VAM-223, [[1878-P VAM-188 also has a washed out L obverse but has a short arrow nock and a broken letter R in TRUST on the reverse. [[1878-P VAM-84 and [[1878-P VAM-84A have the long nock B1 reverse and a washed out L of LIBERTY.
